Reaching My Educational Goal in America

After working two jobs one as a small children sports school teacher and one as a sound technician in the Dominican Republic (DR), I quit them when I got a fiance visa to come to the United States and got married with my wife, Adiel. As soon as I arrived in Seattle, Washington in 2008, I realized that I couldn't do those two jobs here in America just because I did not have a degree in education nor in sound. Also, my English was poor. So Adiel sat down at the table to talk to me about any goal and settling down in Seattle. We agreed that I would dedicate to study and improve my English and forget about my two lovely jobs in the DR. That day she told me that I was in the U.S where there are a lot of opportunities when someone wants to become whatever they want to be.

My first goal was to improve my English. I started studying hard at South Seattle Community College (SSCC) as an ESL student and I was able to reach that first goal. Now, my next goal is to get a business degree in business administration. I really like that area because that will be a suitable way for me to use my strong personality and skills which are dealing and treating all kind of people. I am working on my AA degree which will be done next year. Then, I will make a transfer to UW and get my bachelor degree there. So five years from now, I will be whether leading a business or running my own business in Seattle, Washington.

If someone would like me to give them some tips about how I was able to improve my English, my e-mail me at : sand_iman@hotmail.com
